第25回 国際アカデミー in 札幌

Main thema

The goal of the 25th JCI Academy is the achievement of lasting World Peace by developing Global Networkers capable of leading the world, while taking on a wide variety of challenges arising from changing conditions.

In 2011, Japan sustained enormous damage as a result of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the subsequent collapse of the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

Nevertheless, Japan’s traditional spirit of altruism has enabled its people to make decisive progress along the road toward the reconstruction of Japan.

We live in troubled times and in order to actually realize lasting World Peace, we believe that people who possess the same spirit of self-challenge as the Japanese can be great assets to the world. By organizing the JCI Academy and providing delegates with an
opportunity to challenge themselves, while developing mutual understanding with one another and forging common goals, we hope to enable the world to also firmly move forward toward overcoming its challenges.

As for the Japanese delegates, they have an important role in evoking the Japanese spirit that dwells within them and conveying this spirit to the delegates, while eating together and sleeping together during the Academy. It is our hope that by learning from the overseas delegates and by engaging with them in dialogue, the Japanese delegates will develop into leaders with a truly global, international perspective.

We also hope the overseas delegates, through experiencing programs which explore local traditions together with the Japanese delegates, will be able to gain an insight into the Japanese spirit as well as its culture, becoming familiar with Japan.

Based on the theme of the 25th JCI Academy, Activating the Principle, we aim to develop leaders capable of positive transformation and capable of taking action with the Japanese spirit for the sake of the organization and the local community so that the world can Be Better and so that everlasting World Peace can be realized
